Morning Elixir Tonic

This elixir will kick start your internal fire in the morning, stimulating your liver and digestion, as well as supporting your metabolism and immune system.

Drink a shot or cup of this on waling, preferably half an hour before you eat.

Ingredients (1 Serve)
1-2cm piece of ginger
1-2cm piece of fresh turmeric
Juice of half a lemon
1 tsp organic apple cider vinegar (with mother)
1/4 tsp of cracked pepper (to activate turmeric)
1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper (optional)

Method
Grate the ginger and turmeric and add to a saucepan with ¼ cup of water. Bring it to the boil on the stove then simmer for a minimum of 5 minutes. Remove and strain. Stir through the rest of the ingredients. You can drink it as is like a concentrated tonic or top it up with warm water for a drink.

Ideally drink this warm but you can have it cold during hotter months.

Tip
Make this in bulk by X the recipe by 5 (except the lemon). Keep the prepared tonic in the fridge, then pour a small shot out each morning, add the half a lemon squeezed. Warm it up or add some hot water to serve each morning.
